Job Description

Financial Controller Hybrid role seeks a skilled professional to oversee financial activities, drive business growth, and ensure strong financial health in a fast-paced broadcast environment.

The role reports to the MD and involves hands-on, all-encompassing coverage of finance from day-to-day operations to commercial strategic involvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a finance liaison between global teams and group
  • Leading and developing a finance team of three direct reports
  • Supporting group management reporting processes, including monthly management accounts close and intercompany process
  • Analysing financial data, producing KPIs and metrics to evaluate business performance
  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, stock, and capital expenditure
  • Leading forecasting and budgeting processes, including financial planning and analysis
  • Multi-jurisdiction tax compliance
  • Reviewing and monitoring capital expenditure, ensuring accurate ROI analysis and spend tracking
  • Maintaining rolling cashflow forecasts for the group
  • Implementing and supporting cost control measures, ensuring spending is aligned with company objectives
  • Reviewing and analysing production and operational costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction
  • Coordinating audit processes and ensuring prompt, accurate government returns
  • Providing ad hoc analytical support to various teams within the organisation

Working conditions:

  • This position is hybrid based, with work split between the head office and home
  • Occasional travel may be needed to meet with stakeholders, attend industry events, or visit other company locations

The person:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a commercially focused role
  • Has excellent technical skills, a keen interest in business, and a desire to use commercial acumen alongside finance skillset
  • Has strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Has experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
  • Has excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Can work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
