This is what sets Avolon apart as a great place to work.The Role:Avolon is appointing a Financial Controller to our Dublin office, reporting to the Head of Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and accounting responsibilities. They will also be responsible for leading teams and implementing best practices to ensure that the company's financial processes run smoothly and drive its continued growth. The Financial Controller will play an integral role in the contribution to the overall strategic goals of the business. The role will suit a commercially oriented individual, with proven team leadership capabilities, drive, ambition, and exceptional financial acumen.Key Responsibilities:Lead, motivate and manage team members across the finance function through proactive goal setting, guidance, and coaching. Responsibilities include external statutory reporting, management reporting, compliance coordination and financial control for the Group.Responsibility for the maintenance of the company's system of accounts and for keeping books and records on all company transactions and assets including the month-end, group reporting and single entity audit processes.Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies, coordination of systems, controls, and procedures in line with SOx and C-SOx requirements, and the preparation of interim and year-end financial statements.Oversee and lead end to end processes for the monthly and quarterly reporting processes.Managing the external auditor relationship, audit process and coordination and preparation of quarterly audit committee materials.Build cross functional senior relationships to develop communication and influence across the business, leveraging expertise for financial decisions.Responsible for effectively communicating key areas of financial judgement to the Head of Finance, CFO, and other key stakeholders, creating insightful financial information to direct business and transaction decisions.Building strong collaboration and business partnering across finance, transaction structuring and other internal departments through the commercial Deal Team process to ensure the optimum commercial and financial outcome for the business.Managing the technical accounting and commercial advice to the Deal Team process to ensure appropriate judgements are taken.Create and maintain a culture within the Finance function that strives for continuous improvement and rewards outstanding performance, delivering best-in-class financial governance and control.Optimise the finance function through driving process efficiencies in the month end and statutory reporting processes leading to enhanced reporting capability and enhanced data insights.The Person:The successful candidate will be a strong leader, have sophisticated analytical abilities, be driven, resourceful and a good communicator. They must have the ability to present complex data in a clear and articulate manner with outstanding organisation and time management skills. The candidate must be capable of working with cross functional teams to assist in bringing projects to a successful conclusion on tight timelines. They will be someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.Essential Skills and Experience:Qualified ACA / ACCA or equivalent with 8-year PQE, and strong technical knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS.Strong leader with proven capability of empowering others, instilling accountability and driving high performance by creating an environment where everyone contributes to shared goals and fosters collaboration.Significant experience in managing a diverse team of professionals, with a genuine interest in people and have a track record of creating a culture of development, empowerment and excellence.Manages, prioritises, tracks and delivers tasks for self and team. Ability to parse complex projects into workstreams, delegate and direct others to achieve high quality results on set timelines.Role models effective customer partnership, ensuring self and team develop deep understanding of customer and business priorities to ensure flawless execution and deliver commercially focused, insightful and pragmatic solutions.Strong and independent minded with the ability to express your views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought while recognising alternative perspectives.Strong understanding of the key financial and commercial drivers of the company.Highly commercial, thorough, with keen attention to detail and an ability to identify critical issues and effectively communicate to stakeholders at various levels of the organisation in order to drive optimal business outcomes.Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle tight deadlines prioritising effectively and have a flexible and pro-active approach.What else do you need to know?Please note that we will only accept applications that are made to us via our company website.
