Financial Controller Job Summary: We seek a qualified and experienced Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team, providing financial leadership and expertise to drive business growth and success.
About the Role: As a trusted financial advisor, you will work closely with the Managing Director to develop and implement financial strategies, manage budgets and forecasts, and provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Managing Director and play an integral role in the leadership team.
- Financial Reporting: Work with our external accounts team to prepare and analyse financial statements, providing recommendations to improve financial performance, efficiency, and profitability.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, as well as periodic forecasting, to support effective financial planning and decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing insights to support strategic initiatives.
- Cashflow Management: Develop and manage cashflow statements to ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations and strategic investments.
- Operational Tasks: Manage operational tasks such as hiring, onboarding, lease management to ensure smooth business operations.
- Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls and financial procedures across the business to enhance financial management and compliance.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant taxes, collaborating with external tax advisors when necessary.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare for and manage external audits, working closely with our external accounts team and auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency exchange, interest rate fluctuations, and market volatility.
- Financial Strategy: Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and contribute to the development and execution of the company's financial strategy.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience: 2+ years' experience working as a Financial Controller in an owner-managed company.
- Skills: Proven ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial personnel, energetic and enthusiastic attitude, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
