Financial Controller Summary: Seeking a hands-on ambitious accountant to build a finance function and team, implement systems, and support business growth in a young, fast-growing clean tech company. The Financial Controller will be responsible for building a finance function and team while implementing systems to support a growing business. The successful candidate will join a team alongside renowned industry leaders in a young, fast-growing clean tech company. The current finance function consists of a CFO supported by limited internal resources and an external accounting firm who provide payroll, invoice processing, payments, VAT returns, audit support, management accounts, etc. Responsibilities: • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Irish accounting standards and regulations. • Manage annual audit and relationship with external auditor. • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, manage, and maintain financial models to support the budgeting process and provide insightful financial forecasts to assist in decision-making. • Support cashflow management. • Financial Systems: Select and implement first MRP and ERP system. • Long Range Planning: Develop and maintain model with executive management. • Commercial Support: Support the business development team to financially assess customer opportunities, including pricing and contracting. • Banking Relationships: Maintain relationships with existing bankers and assess new relationships. • Employee Benefits: Manage pension and life assurance programs with HR Manager. • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with Irish and EU tax laws, VAT returns, and statutory requirements supported by external advisors. • Financing: Work with executive team to develop working capital financing strategies with external partners. • Internal Controls & Risk Management: Implement and maintain robust financial processes, internal controls, and policies to safeguard company assets. • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Key Requirements: • 7 years plus experience as a Chartered Accountant or CIMA qualified with exposure to a broad range of business functions. • ERP system implementation experience. • Meticulous attention to detail. • Ability to partner effectively with other functions. • Build and manage a finance team. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
