Financial Lines Underwriter

The Financial Lines Profit Centre is seeking an Underwriter to contribute to its growth by underwriting new and renewal business, developing relationships with brokers, and assisting management with reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to network and build relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Underwriting new and renewal business within agreed decision-making standards and limitations
- Assessing risk through analysis of submissions, regular contact with brokers, and thorough review of proposal and claims history
- Providing support to brokers through excellent service, timely and proactive approach to underwriting, and training on FL products
- Generating new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market
- Liaising with Commercial Operations Team on policy and/or booking issues
- Ensuring compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities
Requirements:
- Some financial lines underwriting experience or relevant professional experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Ability to network and build relationships
- Time management and organizational skills
- Customer and sales focused
