Job Description

The will lead and manage the finance operations, with a strong emphasis on strategic financial planning, compliance, and the integration of data analytics into decision-making. This role will suit an individual who has very good no.2 experience in Finance in a tech company and is ready to step up into a Head of Finance position. This individual will drive business analytics and contribute to the ongoing investment in innovative products as the company transitions more from b2b to b2c Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Planning: Communicate, implement, and continuously review the strategic financial plan, ensuring alignment with the companys broader objectives and driving financial performance. Cross-Departmental Support: Provide strategic financial services and support to other departments, ensuring they have the necessary resources to execute their parts of the strategic plan effectively. Functional Responsibilities: Budget and Planning: Manage all aspects of finance operations, including the annual budget, strategic financial plan, forecast updates, and detailed financial analysis, ensuring that these processes are robust and aligned with business objectives. Data-Driven Financial Planning: Lead the integration of data analytics into financial planning processes, ensuring that business plans and strategies are supported by solid, data-backed insights. Use analytics to inform key decision-making, enhance forecasting accuracy, and guide financial strategy across the organisation. Timely Relevant Financial Reporting: Ensure that financial information prepared by the Finance team is accurate, timely, and proactively shared with key stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Proactive Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with the Executive team and key stakeholders to discuss business measurement assumptions, deliverables, and timelines, providing clear financial insights and recommendations. Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with tax, audit, legal, and CRO requirements through robust internal controls and ongoing monitoring, working closely with external experts as needed. External Auditor Management: Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure that the annual Audit plan effectively addresses the financial and regulatory risks of the business. Financial Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor and review financial processes to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices, identifying areas for improvement. Business Opportunity Analysis: Lead financial analysis on business opportunities, providing valuable insights to support decision-making and growth initiatives. Internal Financial Controls: Ensure that financial controls are efficient and effective, and continuously improved, maintaining a high standard of financial governance. Risk Management: Oversee risk management processes, including credit, cash, and insurance risks, identifying and mitigating potential risks. Team Development: Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, providing guidance and coaching to ensure they reach their full potential. Process Improvement: Champion process improvements within Finance and across the business, driving efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations. Competencies: Financial Analysis: Expertise in interpreting and engaging with key financial data, providing clear and actionable insights. Strategic Thinking: A strategic understanding of the overall business, with the ability to contribute to the corporate direction and financial strategy. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, ensuring clear and consistent communication, especially regarding financial insights and strategic plans. Leadership: Some team leadership experience including effective delegation, team development, and motivation, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team would be an advantage. Innovation: A proactive approach to improving processes and procedures within the company, continuously seeking to enhance financial operations. Required Skills and Qualifications: Professional Qualifications: A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is required. Experience: Extensive experience in financial management and business operations, with a strong track record of supporting strategic decision-making. Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a focus on supporting business objectives through sound financial management. Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and developing teams.
