The role reports to the Head of Finance Operations, Controls and MIandwill also be closely aligned with the wider FRCFwithin Aviva.
This position is notsimply aninternal auditposition:if you findissues, part of your role will beto be pointthemoutimmediatelyandhelp fixthem-notsimplyfilingthose issuesin an end of periodreport.
You will alsoneedthe capabilityto demand things from people, and to identifyproblems in process rather than at the end of the process.
While there is the BAU aspect to this position, Aviva also have some new andcutting-edgetransformation projects across the business in motion where you will have direct Controls input.
Depending on your experience your position should you be successful will not necessarily involve those areas this will be expanded upon at interview.
supportingthe delivery of FRCFactivity forthe ALPIbusiness, performing this assurance activityin respect oflocal and Group reporting processes, and ensuring that themethodologyis appropriately applied for thismarket.
communicatingwith key stakeholders and relevant process and control owners, working closely with them to ensure maintenance of a strong and effective controlenvironment.
supporting a program of change to ensure that our FRCF activity is closely aligned to wider business developments, such as IFRS17adoption.
You will havesignificant opportunity for exposure to senior stakeholders including the ALPI CFOboth inthe local businessand in the Aviva Group centre.
What are some of the key activities in this role? ? Delivery of FRCFassuranceactivity,and requiredto work as part ofthe ALPI Finance & Actuarialteam supporting theserequirements.
Supportingagreement with local, group & project stakeholders the assurance activity required to be performed throughout the year, including timing and prioritisation of thisactivity.
Draftingkey FRCFgovernance activities, including provision of papers for local and Group forums and input into Board and Audit Committee reporting.
Working closely withsubject matter experts (SMEs)and specialists across the wider Risk & Controls team on delivery of certain aspects of FRCF, for example IT and Actuarial SMEs Proactively managing your relationship with key stakeholders, including market FRCFleads and process owners, internalauditand external audit stakeholders Skills & experiencewe'relooking for: Recent audit experience (external audit or internal audit) Qualified Accountantor Actuarial (Near Qualified) Experience and knowledge of life or general insuranceunder IFRS and Solvency II is desirable, financial services at minimum Risk and controls delivery experience, including SOX and internal risk and controlsmanagement.
Knowledge and experience of financial reporting controls Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate complex issues in an easily understoodmanner.
