You must have valid Irish, UK, or EU work rights to be considered for this role Location: Cherrywood, Dublin 18 with hybrid working Our Finance teamare now seeking a managertojoin ourFRCFwithin our Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI) business.You must be a qualified Accountant oralmost-qualified actuary to be considered for this position. FRCFprovides assurance in relation to effectiveness of the control environment over Avivas external financial reporting. The role reports to theHead of Finance Operations, Controls and MIandwill also be closely aligned with the wider FRCFwithin Aviva. This position is notsimply aninternal auditposition:if you findissues, part of your role will beto be pointthemoutimmediatelyandhelp fixthem-notsimplyfilingthose issuesin an end of periodreport. You will alsoneedthe capabilityto demand things from people, and to identifyproblems in process rather than at the end of the process. You willultimatelybe working tomake surevariouscontrols are robust andevidencingthatfact. This position is also situated within first line risk. While there is the BAU aspect to this position, Aviva also have some new andcutting-edgetransformation projects across the business in motion where you will have direct Controls input. There is also an opportunity to be involved in-depth within actuarial controls andIT general or application controls. Experience in these areas would be welcome but it is not essential. Depending on your experience your position should you be successful will not necessarily involve those areas this will be expanded upon at interview. Ingeneral,you will be: supportingthe delivery ofFRCFactivity fortheALPIbusiness, performing this assurance activityin respect oflocal and Group reporting processes, and ensuring that themethodologyis appropriately applied for thismarket. communicatingwith key stakeholders and relevant process and control owners, working closely with them to ensure maintenance of a strong and effective controlenvironment. building relationships across the business to give you visibility and understanding of the end-to-end reportingprocess. supporting a program of change to ensure that our FRCF activity is closely aligned to wider business developments, such as IFRS17adoption. identifyingother opportunities such as process automation or consistency of data usage across the business to further enhance the controlenvironment. You will havesignificant opportunity for exposure to senior stakeholders including the ALPI CFOboth inthe local businessand in the Aviva Group centre.The role andthe widerAviva Ireland Lifebusinessare based in our Cherrywood office in Dublin. You will benefitfrom our smart working policy, which means a blend of office and home working. What are some of the key activities in this role? ? Delivery ofFRCFassuranceactivity,and requiredto work as part ofthe ALPI Finance & Actuarialteam supporting theserequirements. Supportingagreement with local, group & project stakeholders the assurance activity required to be performed throughout the year, including timing and prioritisation of thisactivity. Draftingkey FRCFgovernance activities, including provision of papers for local and Group forums and input into Board and Audit Committee reporting. Working closely withsubject matter experts (SMEs)and specialists across the wider Risk & Controls team on delivery of certain aspects of FRCF, for example IT andActuarial SMEs Proactively managing your relationship with key stakeholders, including market FRCFleads and process owners, internalauditand external audit stakeholders Skills & experiencewe'relooking for: Recent audit experience (external audit or internal audit) Qualified AccountantorActuarial (Near Qualified) Experience and knowledge of life or general insuranceunder IFRS and Solvency II is desirable, financial services at minimum Risk and controls delivery experience, including SOX and internal risk and controlsmanagement. Knowledge and experience of financial reporting controls Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate complex issues in an easily understoodmanner. Ability to manage and drive change in a complexenvironment. Relationship management skills to achieveobjectivesthrough others andmaintaineffective stakeholder relationships across both the businesses/markets and externalsuppliers. Effective influencing skills with people at all levels internally and externally with the ability to build credible workingrelationships. Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines whilstmaintaininghigh quality ofoutputs. Work as a part of a highly motivated team to deliver the whole teamobjectives.
