Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake the detailed design and draughting of Sprinkler drawings for current projects, developing drawings and supporting documentation to Mercury Fire Protection standards.
  • Oversee the Co-ordination process to transform design information into full installation drawings, ensuring client spec compliance and Mercury SOP compliance.
  • Assess Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for Technical compliance with design intent specifications.
  • Coordinate with the project planning department to ensure that every element of the project is delivered ahead of schedule.
  • Manage the technical submittals and approvals, as well as material procurement and ordering through SAP.
  • Work hand in hand with the CMT to ensure that design, materials, manpower, and schedule are all in place to enable the construction trades to deliver on time, every time.
  • Ensure Works are installed in accordance with Project specifications and to the Project QA plan.
  • Communicate with the CMT to ensure the most efficient methods of fabrication and installation are adopted.
  • Review and understand design specifications, ensuring design teams are up to speed.
  • Liaise with the commercial team to evaluate cost implications of design changes and progress issues.
  • Evaluate and promote the use of new engineering practices and processes to enhance delivery time of the project.
  • Prepare and agree project completion criteria and close-out documents and manuals.
  • Manage the Workpacks process from development, implementation, and handover.
  • Develop and use forward-looking indicators to ensure all elements of the project are delivered in accordance with the project objectives.
  • Ensure the fire protection system is correctly installed to comply with all relevant standards.
  • Deliver accurate and detailed reports, and attend site meetings.

Essential Criteria:

  • 3 or more years of experience with Fire Protection/Sprinkler design.
  • Good understanding of Autocad/Revit.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Understanding of MEP installations.
