Job Description

eir evo talent are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Network Firewall Engineer. This is a permanent position located with our client in Dublin. This is a hybrid role. Responsibilities and Duties Firewall Administration: The Firewall Engineer will be responsible for configuring and administrating firewall devices to meet project requirements while ensuring adherence to security policies. Firewall Design: The Firewall Engineer will support and assist the Security Architecture function on defining rulesets onthe Palo Alto Firewall estate. Project Collaboration: The Firewall Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, network engineers, system administrators, and developers, to ensure firewall requirements are met throughout project lifecycles. Support the Security Service function: As a firewall subject matter expert, the Firewall Engineer will assist and support the wider Security Services function. This includes deputising for similar roles during leave periods, etc. Operational Oversight: The Firewall Engineer will support the Security Architecture function with oversight on operational activities associated with the firewalls conducted by third party engineers (including the Managed Service Provider). This includes acting as a key step in CAB approval process and proactively assessing changes in the operating environment. Manage cybersecurity incidents: The Firewall Engineer will serve on the panel for responding to major cybersecurity incidents, working with the incident response team to contain the incident, mitigate the damage, and restore operations. As a result, there will be a requirement to serve as an escalation on-call and may involve some out-of-hours work (in the event of a major incident). Experience and Competencies Experience with Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with firewall architectures in a hybrid cloud (Azure) environment. Strong understanding & experience of security processes and services. Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate accurately and clearly to business and IT users. Good reporting and documentation skills. Good presentation skills & ability to host meetings to an audience. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Qualifications and Certifications Relevant Bachelors Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related area. Relevant Palo Alto firewall certifications. Relevant cybersecurity certifications. Experience working with third party vendors. 3+ years of experience in firewall administration. Strong technical background. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Aruba Network experience desirable Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland or currently hold a Stamp 1G/4 Visa to apply.
