My Dublin based client is currently recruiting for a Firmware Developer this is a 6 month contract role working on a hybrid model. The Firmware Developer will need extensive experience in software engineering processes and structures. You will be specializing in embedded firmware development. You will design, develop, test and implement firmware solutions for various embedded systems. Job Responsibilities Requires a strong understanding of hardware-software integration and a passion for solving complex problems. Design, develop, and implement firmware for embedded systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will alongside the internal development team to integrate firmware with the hardware components and conduct thorough testing to ensure system functionality & stability. Create / maintain documentation for firmware designs, development processes, and testing procedures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality embedded solutions. Experience Required Have strong experience in software engineering processes and structures, with a focus on embedded firmware development. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems. Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and hardware-software interaction. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level device drivers. Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN). Knowledge of debugging and testing tools for embedded systems. Essential and Desirable Skills Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems. Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and hardware-software interaction. Educational Requirements Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
