**Job Summary:** Design and develop embedded firmware code for ground networks and satellites, working on a unique wireless project that enables low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide.
**Job Description:** As a member of the Kuiper MAC-SW team, you will be responsible for delivering embedded firmware code that runs on ground networks, customer terminals, and satellites. You will work on designing, developing, and testing complete Kuiper-MAC firmware, collaborating with a cross-functional team of innovators to bring unique wireless technology to life. **Key Responsibilities:** • Design and develop Kuiper-MAC firmware components/drivers in a real-time embedded environment • Work with a cross-functional team to define performance requirements and make trade-offs to meet end-to-end use case requirements • Build component use-cases/test-cases and debug code in the Kuiper embedded environment • Profile and execute code on RTOS and/or bare-metal embedded environment • Contribute to defining services and functionalities delivered by firmware-subsystems • Define, document, test, and debug firmware-HW interfaces **Requirements:** • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems • Experience programming with at least one software programming language • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent **Preferred Qualifications:** • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations • Experience with clean architecture, refactoring, and other software development best practices **Amazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer:** Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status. **Compensation:** The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market, based on a number of factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
