Food and Beverage ManagerAbout the role
A great opportunity for a Food and Beverage Manager has arisen at The Imperial Hotel in the heart of Cork City.
As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will:
- Guest Relations:
- To greet guests in a warm, friendly and courteous fashion and tend to them in a professional manner.
- To present guests with menus and to ensure that orders are taken efficiently and served according to Company standard.
- To answer the telephone and take reservations as per Company standard.
- To handle any guest complaints in a professional and prompt manner with the support of your Manager/Supervisor.
- Leadership:
- To lead your team by example and to display passion and optimism.
- To conduct probation reviews and one to one meetings with team members within the appropriate timeframes.
- To accurately complete probation review and one to one meeting forms and submit to HR.
- Teamwork:
- To develop a strong working relationship with all colleagues in your department and all other departments.
- To ensure clear lines of communication between your department and related departments.
- To balance team and individual responsibilities and to provide support as required to fellow colleagues.
- Service Standards/Set-Up Procedures:
- To ensure the smooth running of the F&B department ensuring the highest levels of guest service and guest satisfaction.
- To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all standards and delivery of same within the F&B department.
- To conduct a team briefing on commencement of each shift in preparation of service. Ensure a detailed and full handover is communicated to you. Ensure team members are aware of their responsibilities.
- To communicate any relevant information to related departments.
- Preparation for breakfast/lunch, dinner and events as per hotel standard. Ensuring mise en place is prepared.
- Responsible for replenishment of crockery, cruets, cutlery, condiments.
- To ensure that service stations are prepared, stocked and ready for service.
- To re-set tables for next service.
- To ensure F&B department is presented in a clean manner.
- To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all the procedures of the F&B department.
- To ensure an efficient service with minimum delay or wastage.
- To ensure dishes leaving the kitchen are according to our standards of presentation.
- To replenish buffet areas as required.
- To assign duties to employees.
- Liaise with the Head Chef to ensure smooth service between the Kitchen and the F&B department.
- Liaise with conference co-ordinator/tour leaders and conference organisers to ensure smooth handling of large groups and a high level of prompt courteous service.
- To be aware and analyse all forthcoming business on a regular basis and be aware of all daily and future business requirements.
- To actively participate in all training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance levels.
