ALS Life Sciences has a fantastic opportunity for a Food Chemistry Technical Manager to join their team in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Job Summary Working Mondays to Fridays from 9.00am to 5.30pm To perform and to assist in the allocation of work in the lab to the high standards of quality required. To manage and participate in food chemistry method development and validation. To investigate customer complaints and non-conforming work. To participate in internal and external audits. To respond to customer queries related to food chemistry. To provide training and technical support to staff on an on-going basis. To ensure that all results obtained by the team are calculated, checked, and reported correctly and promptly. To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal and external quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples. To liaise with procurement to ensure laboratory stock levels are managed and maintained. To ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures. Perform other duties as required. About You Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Food Chemistry laboratory is required. Degree in Chemistry required, or a related discipline supported by many years of experience in Chemistry analysis. Knowledge of method development and method validation. Previous experience in routine Food Chemistry analysis is highly desirable (fat, moisture, protein, sodium, pH, etc) Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word) Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment.
