Job Summary: Senior Associate, Fund Accounting

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our Fund Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate execution and dissemination of net asset valuations (NAVs) for our clients' accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily cash, position and market value reconciliations
  • Ensure the portfolio is accurately priced daily in adherence to the clients' Price Source Agreement and Governing Docs
  • Work closely with colleagues in each of our hub locations, reviewing the output from the fund accountants in those locations
  • Actively assist in the Dealing Date accounting process - providing reporting of the highest quality and accuracy in a timely manner to meet the needs of our client
  • Manage workflow, ensuring procedures are up-to-date, providing training to strengthen technical skills, coupled with furthering the soft skills within your team
  • Work on complex financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, futures options and swaps
  • Work on Income distributions and ADL
  • Be able to professionally resolve issues and provide help to colleagues, confidently and efficiently communicate with home site
  • Monitor the deliverables, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables; be able to flexibly arrange work among the team
  • Update and maintain procedures for all tasks/activities and work with the Manager to ensure all corporate compliance, risk policies and SOP's are adhered to by the team
  • Be accountable for all assigned tasks, resolve complex issues and escalate as needed
  • Build a collaborative relationship with inter-departmental contacts
  • Assist Manager in making enhancements to the daily operating model
  • Be active in taking responsibility in supporting project, migrations, etc
  • Assist in semi-annual & annual audits
  • Coordinate On -The-Job training for staff members and assist the Manager with staff development and succession planning

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Be a team player yet display a culture of individual ownership of tasks
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
  • 3+ years of fund accounting experience with GL double entry expertise
  • Strong PC skills - Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
  • Preferred experience with Alternative Investment Asset Classes, complex fund structures and fee calculations
  • Preferred experience with ISS and Geneva applications
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, owner's mindset, logical thinking, strong learning ability, sense of responsibility and team work
  • Good interpersonal skill and team spirit
  • Effective communication, organizational and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, creative and efficient in finding solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Strong analytical ability
