Job Description

**This assignment is being exclusively managed by Sarah Kelly, The Panel**Our client operated in the telecommunications market and is now keen hire a General Counsel to head up their legal function.This role will suit experienced lawyers with min. 10 years PQE.Corporate / M&A experience is essential.The position reports to the CEO and sits on the Board.This is a fast paced environment which offers great flexibility and interesting work.As the General Counsel, you'll be a strategic partner, leading all legal matters and ensuring the Group operates smoothly and compliantly.Key Responsibilities:Manage contract negotiations, risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.Provide expert guidance on complex M&A transactions.Collaborate with key stakeholders like the CFO, HR Director, and CEO on legal matters.Oversee legal aspects of employment, intellectual property, and data privacy (GDPR).Develop and implement ethical standards and compliance programs.Manage legal risks and litigation, minimizing costs.Strategically advise the business and drive growth initiatives.Key Qualifications:10+ years of legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house roles.Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.Proven ability to integrate with a business, build relationships with executives, and understand strategic objectives.Ability to take ownership, gain buy-in from stakeholders, and work effectively under pressure.Location and remote working:This position offers 3 days remote working, 2 days on-site in either Limerick, Dublin city or North Dublin.Please note, if you are based in Dublin you will be expected to travel to the Limerick office once per month or for business critical meetings.A full and detailed spec is available.
