Job Description

General Foreman - Optimize Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Foreman on behalf of a well-established Main Contractor with over 40 years in the construction industry. Our client is renowned for delivering high-quality projects, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector. The role will be based across sites in the Southeast of Ireland, including Waterford, Wexford, and Carlow. Position: General Foreman Sector: Pharmaceutical Location: Southeast Ireland (Waterford, Wexford, Tipperary & Carlow) Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Overview The General Foreman will manage day-to-day on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The role involves coordinating various trades and subcontractors, with a focus on pharmaceutical and civil engineering projects. Responsibilities: Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring project completion on schedule and to required quality standards. Manage and direct site personnel and subcontractors, providing leadership and support. Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections. Ensure all work meets required specifications through regular quality checks. Plan and coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to optimise costs and efficiency. Liaise with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders to communicate progress and resolve issues. Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports and progress updates. Requirements: Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally with a large main contractor. Experience on pharmaceutical construction projects is highly desirable. Strong background in civil engineering works. Education from a Trade background, Construction Management, or Engineer. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Sound understanding of construction processes and technologies. Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach. Flexibility to work across multiple sites in Southeast Ireland. What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package.
