General Manager - Co Cork Our client, a well-known and successful Building, DIY and Home Retail Building Merchant, is seeking to recruit an experienced Retail General Manager for their Builders Providers Store in Bantry West Co Cork. As a large community store, with a large Trade and Residential customer this is an exciting job opportunity to join a business where you will be instrumental in purchasing, driving business growth, people leadership and ensuring the store's ongoing success. Compensation Package: Salary: Negotiable based on experience. Additional benefits included. Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and support the team daily to ensure seamless business operations while upholding the company's core values and culture. Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring effective stock control and strong supplier relationships. Maintain a clean, well-organized, and properly merchandised store at all times. Drive sales and monitor key business metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded. Report directly to the Company Directors on financial metrics, taking responsibility for achieving business objectives. Establish and maintain sustainable business relationships, focusing on effective purchasing, sales, and stock control of construction materials and related products. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through performance coaching and leading by example in commitment and enthusiasm. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to stock, HR, credit control, and health & safety. Assist in team development, recruitment, marketing, training, and planning for future business expansion. Requirements: Extensive experience in a senior management role within a retail environment. Proven track record managing a builder's merchant, or a similar retail setting focused on heavy build materials coupled with strong commercial retail management experience. Strong proficiency in handling all financial stats and management accounts, including P&L, KPI's budgets, Mmargin and forecasts. Highly motivated and resourceful with strong leadership skills to drive team growth and achieve targets. Excellent communication and organisational skills. KPI and P&L driven with a proven track record in implementing structure, driving customer service and ensuring best practice and standards.
