Job Description


Our client, a B2B distribution company is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly organised General Manager. The primary function of this role is ensuring smooth integration, driving business growth and maintaining operational excellence.

The General Manager (GM) of the acquired company will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure alignment with parent company goals, and drive sustainable growth. The GM will manage all key functional areas, including operations, finance, human resources, and sales. The role requires strategic leadership, implementation of IT efficiencies, financial acumen, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company through the transition process with aim of aligning company's vision, goals, and culture with the parent company.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to maximise the performance of the acquired entity.
  • Lead and support change management activities, processes and teams.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the company ensuring efficiency in workflow processes.
  • Identify areas of improvement in existing operations and implement necessary changes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulatory requirements e.g HPRA, ISO, MDR.
  • Maintain company's budgets.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, including revenue, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Work with and mentor a leadership team to foster a high-performance and self-motivated culture.
  • Ensure clear communication of goals and expectations across all departments.
  • Support talent development initiatives and management of changes in team structure post acquisition along with the succession planning.
  • Drive business growth through maintenance of existing customer base and expansion of product offerings from parent company.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to business operations, market conditions and integration effort.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager, Managing Director, or in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and operations management.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams through periods of change.
  • Medical background preferred.
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-orientated solutions to problems.
  • Familiarity with HR functions.
  • Creativity & negotiation skills.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
