This blend of time-honoured tradition and modern expansion strategies underlines Chadwicks Group's prominence in the industry, ensuring it remains at the forefront of innovation and customer satisfaction.Reporting to the Managing Director of the Specialist Product Division of the Chadwicks Group, the General Manager of Heiton Steel is responsible for the P&L of our specialist Steel, Cut & Bend and Shotblasting business in line with the profit and revenue targets, overseeing the day to day running of this business, developing, and implementing the strategy for growth.Knowledge & Experience• An experienced business leader in a comparable role, preferably with steel industry knowledge.• Holding a business degree an MBA or similar post graduate qualification would be desirable.• Experience of driving a sales development strategy would be a positive addition.• 3 + years in a similar senior position.• Demonstratable ability to grow a business.• Excellent communication skills with the ability to set a vision for the business.• The capacity to identify and address challenges, make informed decisions, think creatively, and propose innovative solutions.Key Responsibilities• Leading the business to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective manufacturing and operational with the focus on optimising efficiency, productivity and profitability. This role is responsible for achieving the revenue and margin budgets targets.• Lead change initiatives to ensure the business remains relevant to the market and have a sustainable business model for the future, contributing to the development of digital strategy, business progress, and route to market.• Co-ordinate assessments of our customer and market needs, analyse competition’s capability relating to steel, cut and bend and shotblasting, and assist in providing alternative tactics, solutions, and support.• Responsible for managing all safety aspects within the area of own responsibility.• Support and develop your team, ensuring clear targets and objectives are defined and met regularly. Contribute to creating highly engaged and motivated colleagues.• Lead the process for planning, budgeting and forecasting.• Assist in developing sustainable relationships with suppliers and key customers.• Oversee the purchasing of steel for the entire company, forecasting industry trends and managing fluctuations in the market.• Contribute to driving a positive culture across the business, listening to colleagues and supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.• Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and contribute to improving processes and policies where needed.• Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business and contribute to creating an environment where operational metrics can be maximised.• Build and maintain strong relations across the Specialist Product Division, Cork Builders Providers, Telfords and the wider Grafton Group and the associated businesses and management teams.
