**General Manager - Galway / Tipperary**

A well-established Building Merchant, DIY and Home retail store in South East Galway is seeking a General Manager to oversee the smooth operations of the business.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in managing a builder's merchants, DIY, or similar big box retail store, with a proven track record in financial, commercial, operational, and people management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and leading the team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Driving sales and monitoring key business performance metrics
  • Analysing the business P&L and implementing supports to ensure positive outcome
  • Reporting directly to the Business Owners on all financial metrics
  • Building and maintaining strong business relationships
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Assisting the Business Owners with team development, recruitment, marketing, training, and planning for future expansion

**About the Role:**

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, driving sales growth, and ensuring the company's financial performance is on track.

**Requirements:**

  • 5+ years' experience in managing a builder's merchants, DIY, or similar big box retail store
  • Proven track record in financial, commercial, operational, and people management
  • Experience in handling all financial metrics and management accounts
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to guide the team towards achieving business growth goals
  • Proficient with industry-standard software packages and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
