**General Manager - Galway / Tipperary**
A well-established Building Merchant, DIY and Home retail store in South East Galway is seeking a General Manager to oversee the smooth operations of the business.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in managing a builder's merchants, DIY, or similar big box retail store, with a proven track record in financial, commercial, operational, and people management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and leading the team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Driving sales and monitoring key business performance metrics
- Analysing the business P&L and implementing supports to ensure positive outcome
- Reporting directly to the Business Owners on all financial metrics
- Building and maintaining strong business relationships
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Assisting the Business Owners with team development, recruitment, marketing, training, and planning for future expansion
**About the Role:**
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, driving sales growth, and ensuring the company's financial performance is on track.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years' experience in managing a builder's merchants, DIY, or similar big box retail store
- Proven track record in financial, commercial, operational, and people management
- Experience in handling all financial metrics and management accounts
- Strong leadership skills and ability to guide the team towards achieving business growth goals
- Proficient with industry-standard software packages and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
