Applications by: 12:00, 18 September 2024The Trustees of Muckross House (Killarney) CLG is a voluntary, not-for-profit registered charity dedicated to preserving and sharing the heritage of Muckross House and estate, local history, crafts and folk life.Our members include people from all walks of life who share a common commitment to the preservation and development of the story of Muckross House in particular, as well as the history and folk-life of Kerry.Trustees are all volunteers, work in partnership with the state, and receive no remuneration for their service.The Position:The General Manager will report to the Voluntary Board of Trustees through the Chairperson, and together with the Management Team, lead the delivery of the organisation’s strategy. They will lead a dedicated workforce of 68 full-time employees and will be required to demonstrate effective leadership and vision for the role – working with the Board of Directors and the Management Team to shape the longer-term strategic direction of our organisation.Requirements:Candidates should have a proven track record in senior management within a similar-sized organisation, ideally in the heritage, tourism or hospitality sectors. Experience in managing risk, financial and human resources and complex stakeholder relationships is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to lead effective change.Key competencies in this role will include: leadership, communicating and influencing; strategic vision; public relations; marketing and promotion; museum and cultural focus; commercial and financial acumen; change management; critical analysis & decision making; adaptability, drive & resilience; and accountability.Candidates for this post will be sourced through both an advertised selection and executive search process.Closing date: 12 noon on Wednesday 18th of September 2024.Salary: A competitive remuneration package will be on offer to the selected candidate, commencing at €90,000 per annum. #J-18808-Ljbffr
