Job Description
A General Practitioner is sought to deliver comprehensive primary care to a diverse range of patients in County Monaghan.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.
- Advise patients on preventive health measures, including vaccinations, screenings, and lifestyle improvements.
- Monitor and manage patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and more.
- Coordinate referrals to specialist services when necessary to ensure patient needs are met.
- Provide medical care for acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies that arise at the practice.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient medical records using electronic health systems.
- Prescribe medications safely and appropriately, adhering to clinical guidelines and patient safety protocols.
- Participate in public health initiatives such as smoking cessation programs, vaccination drives, and weight management campaigns.
- Work closely with practice nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals within the practice and local community.
Qualifications and Skills
- A recognized qualification in Medicine (MBBS, MBCh B, or equivalent).
- Fully registered or eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- Previous experience in a general practice setting is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
