Job Description

Global Collections Specialist role in Galway City, supporting the global Order to Cash (O2C) collection process, with a focus on cash application, automated channels, and BPO outreach activities.

My client, a multinational e-commerce company, is seeking a Global Collections Specialist to join their team in Galway City. This role is hybrid, with 4 days in office and Friday working from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the global O2C collection process, including cash application and automated channels
  • Reconcile cash received from various channels and oversee BPO outreach activities
  • Monitor and report on outstanding accounts, and prepare analytics on Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging, billing, and payments
  • Investigate and resolve collections and payment-related enquiries, and establish payment plans with delinquent debtors or negotiate settlements with creditors
  • Review account information to determine if debts are valid and legally enforceable, and manage bad debt in line with global policy
  • Partner with key stakeholders to the O2C process, and assist with internal/external audits
  • Perform month-end tasks, and support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing processes regularly
  • Ensure all processes are documented, and assist in the development of the function
  • Work with internal teams to devise metrics showing the health and performance of the function and the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree/Finance qualification desirable
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with collection activities or global O2C environment
  • High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets required
  • Previous SQL or GBQ experience preferred
  • Strong organization and planning skills, problem identification and resolution skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Enterprise Suite tools, excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, and flexible to handle ad-hoc issues
  • Extremely high level of discretion pertaining to confidential information, motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships, and ability to set and facilitate the achievement of department objectives
