OverviewPepsiCo is on the look-out for a Global Design Engineering Lead to join our global engineering function based in Cork.We are the concentrate business in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. If so we could take your talents to a whole new level.Reporting to the Senior Global Design Manager, this is a central global role based in Ireland. This role will focus on delivering the design aspect of the global strategic capital plan for PepsiCo, to support the capacity, BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and infrastructure for the concentrate business. This position will be responsible for providing leadership in the design of the engineering solutions required at the plants to ensure consistent design methodologies, introduction of new technologies and the sharing and implementation of the new technologies across the PGCS plants.ResponsibilitiesLead the design aspect of the Strategic Capital Programs required to deliver capacity and business continuity planning (BCP) for the PCGS business.The key deliverable is the ‘fit for purpose’ utilities design required to deliver on key strategic BCP and Capacity requirements critical for reducing the risk to the overall business.Lead the project teams of > 20 engineers (staff and contract) across all sites to deliver the design on strategic capital.Lead the development and delivery of ‘new technology’ and innovative solutions to ‘future proof’ and modernise the PGCS concentrate business.Develop and leverage best practices from PepsiCo divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world class performance in plant and equipment design.Responsible for design solutions needed to deliver technically complex solutions.Provide technical guidance during project design and implementation, including Commissioning & Process Qualification, to assure viability of technology in proposed configuration.Utilize Engineering first principles, scientific methods, and processing systems knowledge to develop technical process equipment solutions that both create new business opportunities and solve existing equipment needs.Develop sustainable engineering practices and programmes ensuring sustainability in plant design and operation.QualificationsDifferentiating Functional / Technical CompetenciesProven experience delivering the design aspect of large/complex capital projects in a global and diverse environment, extensive experience in utilities engineering and track record of influencing a complex matrix of stakeholders to deliver a design to the highest standard.Significant technical knowledge of water treatment, steam, compressed air & electrical engineering.This role requires significant technical competency in the engineering field and the ability to influence key stakeholders to drive change in operational methods and the ability to manage teams of contractors and staff to deliver projects to a high standard within committed budget and schedule.QUALIFICATIONSMin 8/10 years process industry experience in engineering with additional operations or maintenance exposure and extensive capital project management experience.Degree qualification in Chemical or Process engineering or equivalent.Extensive Experience required in the following areas:Process plant technical standards.Project concept development.Business case and capital approval.Design, Procurement and Installation.Construction, Commissioning and Validation.Environmental, health and safety management.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organization.Change management advocate.For the purposes of external advertising, we have called this role a Global Design Engineering Lead.
