Pepsi Co is seeking a Global Design Engineering Lead to join its global engineering function based in Cork. This role will focus on delivering the design aspect of the global strategic capital plan for the concentrate business.

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced engineer to lead the design of engineering solutions at our plants, ensuring consistent design methodologies and the introduction of new technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in the design of engineering solutions required at the plants to ensure consistent design methodologies, introduction of new technologies, and the sharing and implementation of new technologies across the PGCS plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design aspect of the Strategic Capital Programs required to deliver capacity and business continuity planning (BCP) for the PCGS business.
  • Lead project teams of engineers across all sites to deliver the design on strategic capital.
  • Develop and deliver 'new technology' and innovative solutions to 'future proof' and modernise the PGCS concentrate business.
  • Develop and leverage best practices from Pepsi Co divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world-class performance in plant and equipment design.
  • Provide technical guidance during project design and implementation to assure viability of technology in proposed configuration.
  • Utilize engineering first principles, scientific methods, and processing systems knowledge to develop technical process equipment solutions.
  • Develop sustainable engineering practices and programmes ensuring sustainability in plant design and operation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering the design aspect of large/complex capital projects in a global and diverse environment.
  • Extensive experience in utilities engineering and a track record of influencing a complex matrix of stakeholders to deliver a design to the highest standard.
  • Significant technical knowledge of water treatment, steam, compressed air, and electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 8/10 years process industry experience in engineering with additional operations or maintenance exposure and extensive capital project management experience.
  • Degree qualification in Chemical or Process engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organization.
