Because Primark is all about tailoring to you, we offer Tax Saver Tickets, fitness centre, and a subsidised cafeteria.What You’ll Do as a Global Indirect Tax Manager at PrimarkIn your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:Lead interesting projects from a VAT perspective with the support of the Senior Manager. This may include collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure VAT compliant and efficient systems and processes are implemented for indirect tax specific projects (e.g., real-time reporting) and for cross-functional projects (e.g. system changes).Assist the Senior Manager with indirect tax planning involving the Primark Group including identification of opportunities, and developing, recommending, and managing the implementation of selected projects.Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to bring efficiencies to processes and technology, improve ways of working and enhance controls to manage indirect tax risks.Oversee project implementation from a VAT perspective from requirements gathering through to project implementation.Representing indirect tax in cross-functional forums and developing good relationships across the business.Collaborate with the wider business daily as a key VAT point of contact and advise on the indirect tax implications of a wide range of activities and initiatives.Support the business on all indirect tax obligations for new country entry.Work closely with the Global Indirect Tax compliance team to manage Primark’s indirect tax position across certain markets.Develop and manage key trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including taking responsibility for dealing with tax authority queries and indirect tax audits where applicable.Reviewing relevant transactions, contracts and new business practices from an indirect tax perspective.Stay informed and educate the Global Indirect Tax team on changes in indirect tax legislation and practice and keeping relevant business partners and management updated on same.Contribute to the Global Indirect Tax team development and provide technical indirect tax training.Working with the wider Tax team to ensure consistency of approach across all jurisdictions.What You’ll BringHere at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:Qualified tax professional with 5+ years relevant PQE.Excellent planning and organisation skills with an ability to plan and prioritise workload to work within agreed timescales.A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills, while demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence and possess the ability to push back with professionalism. Proven ability in developing effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.Strong indirect tax technical ability and commercial awareness demonstrating sound knowledge of wider business factors.Demonstrate initiative and analytical thinking with strong work ethic and high attention to detail.Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently to deliver required results.Previous experience in a fast-paced company in the Retail industry preferable.Exceptional MS Office skills; Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are essential.Alteryx skills are desirable.Highly organised, detail-orientated, possessing the ability to effectively prioritise projects and deliverables whilst meeting deadlines set by management.Articulate and able to build a strong narrative argument, distilling lots of information into a clear and consistent story that will resonate with Primark management.Does this sound like you?
