Global Indirect Tax Manager (12 month FTC)

Lead VAT projects, ensure compliance, and implement efficient systems for indirect tax specific projects and cross-functional projects.

About the Role

  • Collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets to lead interesting projects from a VAT perspective.
  • Assist the Senior Manager with indirect tax planning involving the Primark Group, including identification of opportunities and managing the implementation of selected projects.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to bring efficiencies to processes and technology, improve ways of working and enhance controls to manage indirect tax risks.
  • Oversee project implementation from a VAT perspective from requirements gathering through to project implementation.
  • Represent indirect tax in cross-functional forums and develop good relationships across the business.
  • Collaborate with the wider business daily as a key VAT point of contact and advise on the indirect tax implications of various activities and initiatives.
  • Support the business on all indirect tax obligations for new country entry.
  • Work closely with the Global Indirect Tax compliance team to manage Primark's indirect tax position across certain markets.
  • Develop and manage key trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including dealing with tax authority queries and indirect tax audits.
  • Review relevant transactions, contracts, and new business practices from an indirect tax perspective.
  • Stay informed and educate the Global Indirect Tax team on changes in indirect tax legislation and practice.
  • Contribute to the Global Indirect Tax team development and provide technical indirect tax training.
  • Work with the wider Tax team to ensure consistency of approach across all jurisdictions.
