Scientist role in Gene Therapy team: Conduct scientific tests, develop procedures, and support complex analytical projects.

We are currently seeking a Scientist to join our expanding Gene Therapy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out scientific test procedures, developing new tests and procedures, and supporting complex analytical projects.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Carrying out scientific test procedures on client samples and producing accurate results within an acceptable time frame
  • Developing and validating new tests and procedures for company and clients
  • Technical review of protocols and reports
  • Completion of specific technological projects and writing up the results accurately and confidentially
  • Data and documentation review as assigned by management
  • Participating in client and regulatory audits
  • Deputising for management as required
  • Direct communication with clients
  • Review of test methods for quotation purposes
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement of quality and service

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Molecular Cell Biology or Immunology, experience in qPCR, SDS-Page, cell and molecular biology, and western blotting. Specific experience in infectivity and potency cell-based assays and work with viral vectors is also required. Experience in method validation is desirable.

The successful candidate will be a good team player, organised, accurate, and have strong documentation skills. They will be passionate about quality and customer service, and have good communication skills both internally and externally.
