ESB strives to foster an effective and inclusive culture where people engage, challenge and feel connected to our purpose, colleagues, customers and community.Position DescriptionESB Trading delivers essential asset optimisation services, risk management and wholesale market access to ESB Group and to its third-party customers. The Credit and Governance team, part of the Middle Office, independently assesses and reports on credit exposures and delivers an independent governance function to the Trading business. This role will provide an excellent opportunity to assess, understand and measure the credit and operational risks inherent in ESB Trading’s activities across power and commodity markets.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor all trading activities to ensure compliance with ESB Trading approved authority limits.Support the quarterly governance signoff from the senior management team as to the adequacy of the controls operating within ESB Trading.Support any audits and control reviews.Support the process for identifying, measuring and managing operational risks in ESB Trading by ensuring that all incident reports are completed, representative and that all related actions are tracked for completion.Manage the access review process to trading systems and share drives across ESB Trading.Ensure counterparty trading mandates are in place with all relevant counterparties.Develop policies for ESB Trading and monitor compliance with same.Pro-actively seek to further enhance the control environment within ESB Trading.Support governance reporting to the Senior Management Team and Risk Management Committee.Work closely with other teams to support the overall objectives of ESB Trading.Act as a liaison with both internal and external stakeholders.Play an active role in shaping ESB Trading’s activities through provision of insight and constructive challenge.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 2-3 years' relevant experience.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Must be a team player.Proven ability to work on own initiative and deliver results to strict deadlines.An understanding of a trading operation is desirable but not essential.QualificationsA third level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.LocationThis position is based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin.ESB is committed to offering flexibility in ways of working and we call that Smart Working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible and remote ways of working.
