Qualcomm Graphics Software Engineers architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize the structure and performance of GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications, and tools. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet and exceed customer needs.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 1+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience.2+ years of work experience with one or more programming language suitable for graphics (e.g., C++, C).Good understanding of computer system concepts: CPU, SoC, boot process, OS, kernel vs user mode, OS primitives, device drivers, memory allocation, virtual memory, multi-threading etc.Preferred QualificationsExperience in device bring up and validationExperience in device driver development and debuggingExperience with graphics hardware and/or graphics device driversKnowledge of graphics kernel concepts including power management, clock management, scheduling and dispatch, memory/MMU management, and securityProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl and/or shell scriptingPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:Applies Graphics knowledge to assist in the architecture, design, implementation, and verification of the structure and performance of GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications, and tools.Writes code for well-defined features, drivers, and APIs using different languages (e.g., C, C++, Perl, Python).Maintains comprehensive pre-silicon tests using tools and methods for a specific, well-defined component to verify functionality and/or performance.Assists in identifying deficiencies in designs and works with team members to develop solutions to improve designs.Collaborates with team members to understand new features and functionality that align with needs and goals for implementation and customization.Writes detailed design documentation and feature descriptions for projects.Provides extensive support to other teams working on the same project.Where you will be workingCork has a proud reputation as Ireland's second largest economic engine and is now one of the Top 20 location choices in Europe with 39,000 people being employed by over 170 overseas companies.
