Description
The Grade VII Risk Manager will report to the Quality & Patient Safety Manager at Cork University Hospital. The post holder will work closely with:
- Senior Management Team
- Heads of Departments
- Core Directorate Management Teams
- Director of Nursing
- Consultants
The post holder will represent the hospital with external HSE Legal Advisors, the State Claims Agency, and the Coroner's Office.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing proactive risk management systems and processes that prioritize the quality and safety of patient care.
2. Operational responsibility for developing and coordinating a risk management program within the hospital to effectively manage, measure, and monitor safety.
3. Promoting best evidence risk management practices that foster a fair, open, and learning culture.
4. Implementing systems to ensure the organization learns from incidents, complaints, and claims analysis.
5. Supporting the Executive Management Board, Core Directorates Management Teams, and departmental managers in establishing a proactive risk management culture focused on patient safety.
