As a Graduate Health and Safety Consultant at Arup, you will:

  • Carry out the duties of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) co-ordinator on projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Conduct design health and safety reviews with our design teams on projects.
  • Provide advice to clients and designers in relation to construction, operational and occupational health and safety.
  • Assist the Company Safety Officers in the implementation of our occupational safety management systems (which is OHSAS 18001 accredited).
  • Conduct design and construction safety reviews/inspections on construction sites and operational facilities.

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for graduates who are currently pursuing a third level qualification in Health and Safety.

We also value:

  • A third level qualification in another technical area within the construction industry, e.g. Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or similar.
  • Some knowledge of design and construction-related health and safety legislation.
  • Some understanding of the PSDP role.
  • Some knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
  • Excellent communications, inter-personal and writing skills.
  • A pro-active approach to gathering and processing information with good follow-through to completion.
  • Some construction site experience will also be an advantage.
