Arup's water team in Ireland and internationally works on a wide range of projects, including flood relief schemes, network and treatment plant design, and sustainable drainage design. We're looking for a Graduate Water Engineer to join our team.

As a Graduate Water Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing technical designs, drawings, reports, and correspondence in accordance with approved design standards and procedures. You will also ensure that relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and technical guidance are interpreted and communicated across the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and technical guidance are interpreted and communicated across the team.
  • Communicate effectively with a broad cross-section of individuals, including team colleagues, project managers, clients, and contractors.

We're looking for graduates who are currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in a civil, structural, chemical, or environmental engineering discipline or those with environmental or science qualifications (equivalent to Level 8 in the Irish NFQ). A Master's degree within these fields would be beneficial but not essential.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • A proven ability to work within a team environment, both internally and externally.
  • A sound understanding of design principles for elements such as SUDS, flood risk assessments, water quality assessments, and water/wastewater treatment.
  • Knowledge of hydrological principles.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and strong analytical skills.
