Grid Delivery Manager EMEA, Infrastructure Energy Team
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a comprehensive business unit within Amazon.com providing cloud services. The AWS Cloud operates within 49 Availability Zones across 18 geographic Regions worldwide.
The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) seeks a results-orientated individual to join as Grid Delivery Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering large scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a technical understanding of critical substation projects, including cables and overhead lines, with a minimum of 5+ years' experience delivering HV substation projects/programs from design through to energisation phase.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and a proven track record in delivering complex projects across diverse teams to tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director and vice president level will be the candidate's responsibility.
The Grid Delivery Manager will drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions, support financial budgeting and act as the point of contact between AWS and electricity utilities.
The role requires strong organizational, communication and team building skills, with the ability to self-start and self-motivate in a dynamic environment. Ability to travel up to 20% and International Business experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver large scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines
- Drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes and develop tools for delivery executions
- Support financial budgeting and act as the point of contact between AWS and electricity utilities
- Manage stakeholder expectations and report on key project risks & issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
- 5+ years experience delivering HV/MV grid interconnection projects, substations and overhead lines/cables
- Strong organizational, communication and team building skills
- Ability to self-start and self-motivate in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (MBA/MS)
- Experience designing HV/MV substations or other energy infrastructure
- Experience working for electricity utilities and/or energy regulators
- Ability to converse in French or Italian
