Lead Environmental and Sustainability Specialist

As a leader in environmental and sustainability, you will play a key role in driving our company's commitment to reducing its environmental impact.

  • Lead environmental and sustainability initiatives across the group
  • Ensure external accreditations, including Ecovadis, Sedex, and ISO 45,001, are delivered
  • Assist with site environmental audits and compliance with our EMS and planning conditions
  • Research and implement sustainable solutions, including HVO, diesel alternatives, and plastic-free options
  • Represent Mercury on external groups and bodies linked to our industry
  • Monitor ESG-related industry updates and requirements
  • Collaborate with the financial team to finalise the annual sustainability report
  • Guide and train the team on ESG requirements and best practices

Essential criteria for the role:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles
  • Previous experience in construction operations
  • Professional certification to level 7 QQI minimum
  • Qualified to diploma level as a minimum with a qualification in environmental or EHS
  • Proven track record as a leader through excellent communication
