Lead Environmental and Sustainability Specialist

As a leader in environmental and sustainability, you will play a key role in driving our company's commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
- Lead environmental and sustainability initiatives across the group
- Ensure external accreditations, including Ecovadis, Sedex, and ISO 45,001, are delivered
- Assist with site environmental audits and compliance with our EMS and planning conditions
- Research and implement sustainable solutions, including HVO, diesel alternatives, and plastic-free options
- Represent Mercury on external groups and bodies linked to our industry
- Monitor ESG-related industry updates and requirements
- Collaborate with the financial team to finalise the annual sustainability report
- Guide and train the team on ESG requirements and best practices
Essential criteria for the role:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles
- Previous experience in construction operations
- Professional certification to level 7 QQI minimum
- Qualified to diploma level as a minimum with a qualification in environmental or EHS
- Proven track record as a leader through excellent communication
