Group Financial Controller My client is a leading group based in the South East with a reputation for excellence and strong portfolio of customers. Due to expansion, they are seeking to recruit for a newly created Group Financial Controller position. This role will suit an energic individual who thrives on the fast pace of industry and wants to be instrumental in the strategic development of the company. As Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for all key financial and reporting requirements of the group and provision of support in commercial matters key to delivering the profitability and growth of the business in line with the Budgets. Key responsibilities Manage a finance team of 5 people providing leadership and direction and ensuring that the team is engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential. Manage month-end and year-end close process including submission of group reporting with strict deadlines; Continuous process improvement and implementation of best practice methods across the business; Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, ensuring that changes to business assumptions and financial impacts are captured on a timely and accurate basis. Manage audit, taxation and general statutory compliance; Manage cashflow reporting Ownership of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring an appropriate level of provisions are reflected in the accounts; Provide relevant, timely and accurate financial information and analysis to the business, including monthly accounts, commentary and Board packs, explaining variances to budget and forecast and challenging assumptions. Provide business analysis to improve processes, productivity and performance in supporting effective business decision making. Implement cost reductions initiatives to enhance margin growth; The person Qualified Accountant with previous experience working within a group company or plc Leadership, people management and organisational change skills Excellent communication, presentation (Board Level) and interpersonal skills with a history of building effective relationships.
