Great National Hotels & Resorts Group have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Group Sales Manager to head up all aspects of sales planning, co-ordination and implementation for Maternity Leave cover. This role offers huge amounts of exposure to someone who is seeking career development and is truly passionate about the Hospitality industry.Objective of the RoleThe ideal candidate will be pro-active and energetic- achieving sales targets & the ability to execute effectively a focused sales plan for the agreed market segments.We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who will be continuously looking at how the hotels can increase productivity through different methods and approaches.Reporting directly to the Group Commercial Director, you will work to increase revenue and maximise yield, predominately for bedrooms, ensuring budgeted sales, average room rates, occupancy in both rooms and catering are met.You will be instrumental in promoting the Group, on both a national and an international level, to raise our profile, to retain and maintain existing business and develop new business, resulting in increased sales.Duties will include:Perform day to day sales activity including lead generation, face to face meetings, contracting & rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade shows, client entertainment and national/international sales trips.Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis; monitoring their performance, rates and sales activity.Work in conjunction with the Head of Sales & Marketing for generating leads through proactive sales activities calls to achieve MICE & Corporate Room Revenue.Lead and co-ordinate sales activities across the Group in order to secure new business and develop the Group brand.To ensure the accurate processing, distribution, recording/filing and follow up of all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations,confirmations, cancellations, etc.To contract corporate rates annually with key corporate accounts.Research past business for each property to devise quarterly plans to present to the GCD.To support with lead conversions, visit prospective clients and maintain an up to date database on clients.To proactively sell all event spaces to prospective corporate clients, agencies or private bookings.The organization, planning and promotion of regular business networking events, trade events and guest events in order to exploit the brand image. Attend Group consumer and trade promotions as required and schedule relevant individual promotions for the hotel.Recognise and capitalise on opportunities for PR & media exposure for the hotels.To be fully aware of the main market developments and other factors that would influence business or create favourable market conditions.Conform to the monthly sales reporting requirement as directed by the GCD.Joint sales calls with GNH, to drive national business and events.
