Group Sustainability Lead – Food Industry


Location:
Rathmooney, Dublin


We are recruiting for a dynamic Group Sustainability Lead to drive and uphold sustainability initiatives for a leading company in the food industry.

This role is crucial in ensuring that the organization operates with environmental integrity and achieves its sustainability objectives.


Job Summary:


The Group Sustainability Lead will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's sustainability strategy, integrating sustainable practices across business operations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.

This role requires a proactive individual with a passion for sustainability and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Management:
Maintain and continuously improve the existing sustainability strategy to meet ambitious targets.

Progress Tracking:
Monitor and assess progress towards sustainability goals, conducting regular evaluations to ensure targets are met.

Operational Integration:
Embed sustainable practices into daily business operations to achieve set targets and drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and community partners to promote sustainability initiatives and enhance the company's reputation.

Compliance:
Ensure compliance with sustainability-related legislation and standards, including Origin Green, EPA, Repak, and CSRD.

Reporting:
Prepare and manage reports for environmental agencies and government bodies, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.

KPI Management:
Maintain and update key performance metrics related to sustainability, providing insights for decision-making.

Industry Awareness:
Stay informed on sustainability trends, policies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to the company's operations.

Innovation:
Research and recommend new technologies and strategies to further enhance the company's sustainability efforts.

Representation:
Represent the organization at industry events and conferences, enhancing the company's profile in sustainability.


Requirements:

Experience:
At least 1-2 years of experience in a sustainability-focused role.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge:
Strong understanding of ESG principles and reporting standards, with a focus on sustainability in the food industry.

Skills:

Excellent project management and organizational skills, with proficiency in data analysis and tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI.


Communication:
Strong communication skills, capable of effectively reporting and presenting information to various stakeholders.

Independence:
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.


Working Conditions:

Environment:
Office-based role with regular interaction on the production floor.

Travel:
Occasional travel required to meet with stakeholders and attend sustainability events.


Hours:
Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00.
