Beechfield Care Group - Bethany House Nursing Home Beechfield Care Group are currently seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Head Chef to assume responsibility for the care of residents at Bethany House Nursing Home, Tyrellspass, Co. Westmeath N91P5P6. We are a long-established Nursing Home Group based in Dublin, Carlow, Meath, Westmeath & Kildare. About Bethany House Bethany House Nursing Home is a purpose-built residential home situated in the picturesque village of Tyrellspass in the heart of the midlands in County Westmeath. About the role: The Head Chef is a key position in the nursing home, responsible for ensuring that residents are provided with a nutritious and varied diet that meets their individual and dietary needs and preferences. The role is full-time (40 hours weekly) with a permanent contract, reporting to the Director of Nursing and accountable to the Operations Team of the company. Role Responsibilities: Supervision and preparation of the cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals for residents. Providing for special dietary requirements where necessary and considering the preferences of individual residents. Consulting with the PIC when planning/costing menus to provide a balanced nutritious diet and making the best use of available fresh foods. Ensuring statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas. Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Home's Health and Safety, Infection Control and Hygiene policies, and Emergency and Fire procedures. Role Requirements: Formally trained. Fully certified in HACCP. Trained in modified food as per SALT guidelines. Comply with all Food hygiene regulations. Have a background in management of a kitchen environment. Fluent in English (speaking & writing). Experience in a Nursing Home/Hospital environment is an advantage. Great benefits on offer: An excellent remuneration available to the successful candidate.
