The strategic objective of the Accommodation Registration and Grading division is to continue to develop the tourism accommodation registration and quality assurance strategy to meet the changing needs of both domestic and international visitors.The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for:Developing the strategic approach for all accommodation registration, in particular the implementation of the new short-term tourist letting register and associated compliance and enforcement activity.Managing and further developing the existing Fáilte Ireland quality systems known collectively as National Quality Assurance Framework which is currently the subject of a review.The success of both work areas will require the role holder to work with public and private sector stakeholders to achieve Fáilte Ireland’s strategic objectives.JOB DESCRIPTIONCarry out all other duties as required and participate as a full member of the Sector Development Team by supporting different work projects, as required, from time to time.This role requires travel, with attendance at a number of national and regional locations/sites on a regular basis.This role will require regular attendance at both internal and external meetings.The flexibility to travel domestically, and on occasion internationally is an element of this role.PRIMARY OBJECTIVES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIESREGISTRATION & QUALITY:Implement the strategy for the new short term tourist letting accommodation register.Develop and implement an overall compliance framework and approach to investigations.Oversee registration and quality assurance inspection and investigation processes.Lead the review of the National Quality Assurance Framework and ensure that our quality standards continue to develop to meet the changing needs of visitors in relation to tourist accommodation.Lead the work with external stakeholders including Government, Industry Representative Groups, Local Authorities etc.Develop and utilise data and insights, stakeholder engagement, value propositions, business cases and implementation plan for programmes to deliver all the above.STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENTBuild alignment and commitment with key stakeholders to the strategy as it develops and work with them to develop and implement agreed actions.Identify and develop excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve the organisation’s objectives.The Head of Accommodation Registration and Grading is expected to develop and maintain key working relationships with the following: Executive and Leadership teams, Department of Tourism, Representatives Groups, booking platforms and individual businesses.RESOURCE MANAGEMENTContinue to develop the division and its reputation with all external and internal stakeholders.Inspire, lead and support team members to perform to the best of their ability individually and collectively within teams to meet predetermined objectives.Develop accurate manpower plans to ensure that all projects within the division are resourced with the appropriate skills.Monitor the deployment of resources to ensure optimal outcomes.Actively coach, mentor, evaluate, develop, motivate, delegate, and monitor the activities of team members and conduct Performance Reviews in line with Fáilte Ireland policy.GOVERNANCE & REPORTINGComply with all aspects of organisation policy.Report, as required, to the Fáilte Ireland Executive Team.Be an active member of the Leadership Team.PERSON SPECIFICATIONESSENTIAL CRITERIAA minimum of five years’ successful leadership experience in a leadership role and will have delivered effective regulatory oversight of a regulated market.
