Head of Cloud Operations
Award-winning business seeks experienced leader to drive cloud strategy and operations across existing and new clients.
- Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
- Lead automation of operational processes and deployments using Python and other scripting tools.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and enforce cloud security strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams for seamless integration and deployment of cloud-based solutions.
- Own cost management and optimization of cloud resources for efficient utilization.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud architecture, driving innovation within the infrastructure team.
- Liaise with clients and serve as SME for cloud-related issues.
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in management/technical leadership within cloud operations with a strong focus on AWS.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and infrastructure management.
- Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and compute in a cloud environment.
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously.
