Job Description

We have an exciting new role within AXAs Compliance Team for a Head of Compliance, responsible for spearheading strategy and operational delivery. We are seeking experienced senior-level Compliance Leaders with a background in managing compliance functions within regulated financial services, ideally within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements for financial services/insurance, coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to effectively convey complex information in a clear and impactful manner. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, at our Dublin city centre office. What you'll be doing: The Head of Compliance, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, will be responsible for managing the strategy and operational delivery of the Compliance function to align with AXA Ireland's strategy and business targets while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include: Overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements of the Central Bank of Ireland (Consumer Protection Code, Corporate Governance Code, etc.) and FCA requirements pertaining to AXA Insurance DAC, a company regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Contributing to AXA Ireland's relationship with AXA UK by maintaining strong connections with the Group Compliance function at AXA UK plc. Acting as the Regulatory Liaison and main contact point for Regulators, ensuring positive relationships are upheld. Ensuring that the General Good Requirements are met across the EU 27 concerning the provision of International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI). Overseeing compliance with Financial Crime requirements including Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions Screening and Counter Terrorist Financing Overseeing the establishment and maintenance of systems and controls to ensure clear apportionment of responsibilities within the Compliance Team at AXA Ireland. Promoting a strong Risk and Compliance culture and taking accountability for the timely delivery of action plans. *The responsibilities of the Head of Compliance – AXA Ireland are framed by the Delegated Authorities from AXA UK plc Board and by the Statement of Delegated Authorities from the AXA Ireland Board. Your Profile What we're looking for: 5 years' experience in senior leadership roles, overseeing teams responsible for compliance management in regulated financial services, preferably within the insurance industry. Managerial experience encompassing a wide range of compliance management disciplines, including operational risk and resilience. Proven track record of implementing compliance management policies and procedures, risk systems, and delivering accurate and timely management information and reports to senior management and governance committees. Familiarity with the regulatory frameworks of both the Central Bank of Ireland and the Financial Conduct Authority. Professional Certificate in Insurance (APA Personal) is essential. A strategic, forward-thinking individual who excels in fast-paced environments and drives change. Analytical with a strategic and results-focused mindset, capable of deriving insights to inform decisions and adjust plans accordingly. Highly adaptable in addressing the needs of internal stakeholders and collaborating to resolve complex issues. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to convey complex information in a clear, compelling, and impactful manner, adapting style to suit the audience and situation while respecting individual and organizational impacts of change. Strong presentation skills, including articulate oral and written capabilities. Strong leadership and motivation skills, with a team-oriented and collaborative approach to work and a pragmatic, common-sense attitude. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
