High-profile FinTech company seeks Head of Data to lead Data Science, Data Engineering & BI teams, developing a Data Warehouse & Data Infrastructure to drive business growth.
As a key member of the company's leadership team, the Head of Data will be responsible for building a high-performing team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence professionals. This team will be tasked with developing a robust Data Warehouse and Data Infrastructure to effectively collect, store, and analyze crucial data within the company.
The Head of Data will play a critical role in driving business growth by delivering quick wins from customer data within the first 12 months. In the longer term, the goal will be to further develop the company's data asset, enabling better and more targeted services for customers. This data asset could also be monetized externally given its unique value.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and leading Data Science or Data Engineering teams from scratch. They will also have experience in developing a Data Warehouse and BI Reporting and Analytics layer on top. Previous experience in Financial Services is a plus, as is any experience of working in a two-sided digital marketplace.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Building and leading a high-performing team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence professionals.
- Developing a robust Data Warehouse and Data Infrastructure to effectively collect, store, and analyze crucial data within the company.
- Delivering quick wins from customer data within the first 12 months.
- Further developing the company's data asset to enable better and more targeted services for customers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with a good level of experience with SQL, Python, and R. They will also have strong STEM academics and excellent leadership and communication skills.
