We currently have an opportunity for a Head of Retail Operations to join our Donnybrook Fair Team. Reporting to the Director of Product Brands, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of an effective business strategy for our Donnybrook Fair Retail business in keeping with the long-term vision and values of the company.

Areas of responsibility will include the following:

  • Responsibility for the full performance of the Donnybrook Fair retail business.
  • Manage and lead the team ensuring they are highly engaged and have the skills, resources and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve their objectives.
  • Ensure robust strategic and operational plans are designed and implemented to create positive sales growth and momentum within the business.
  • Build upon the success of the Donnybrook Fair brand as a premium range and leverage our wider Musgrave resources to identify opportunities for further growth.
  • Ensure continued identification and delivery of brand and range opportunities across Donnybrook Fair.
  • Deliver a programme of organisational culture change and development to support the strategy execution and to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service and an excellent shopper experience.
  • Be an active and effective member of the management team by contributing to the establishment, delivery and achievement of the business objectives in line with our Guiding Principles and Company Values.

Developing our Brand

  • Continuously review and develop the customer offer to deliver sales and profit targets. Ensure effective engagement with all stakeholders in particular the store operations teams to ensure they understand, buy-into and implement the plan to ensure we maximize sales and margin return.
  • Review the performance and offering on an ongoing basis, based on KPIs, customer feedback and informed by market and consumer research, marketing and store managers' input.
  • Drive innovation through our customer offer through coordination of cross functional teams including, Trading, Product Development; Store Managers and Marketing.
  • Develop and execute appropriate seasonal plans to drive sales and profit growth.
  • Monitor current market dynamics, competitor activity and emerging trends and their potential impact on the business and ensure appropriate plans are in place to protect the business performance.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead and develop the team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to achieve our business objectives, and that they operate in a manner consistent with the values and guiding principles of Musgrave.
  • Build a sustainable, high performing, engaged team by providing clear direction, stretch targets and regular reviews to manage all levels of performance. You will demonstrate the Musgrave leadership skills and values holding self and others accountable for meeting and exceeding objectives and maximize the potential of team members to encourage and sponsor talent to ensure succession in the business.
  • Communicate clearly and positively to engage all colleagues to ensure they understand their role in delivering the business objectives. Positively influence company culture in line with company values and to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service and an excellent shopper experience.

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior management role with a proven track record of successful delivery and people management.
  • Experience in the strategic business planning process incorporating cross functional views.
  • Strong commercial acumen, be results focused, solutions oriented and a pragmatic problem solver.
  • Comfortable working in a fast moving, dynamic, customer-oriented environment with a strong operational focus.
  • Excellent flexibility and adaptability within management style.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the Musgrave Values and Leadership Qualities.
  • Degree or relevant experience.
  • Experience of successfully managing retail operations across multiple sites to deliver growth and exceptional customer experience is a distinct advantage.
