Job Description

Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of EMR’s Operational Telecommunication Networks to various utility sectors. This role will appeal to highly motivated and flexible engineers who enjoy working in a dynamic operations environment. The solutions provided within EMR’s Operational Telecommunication Networks include Microwave, IP Radio, 3G & LTE, Satellite, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, WiFi, GSM, MPLS/TP, Signal Boosting and onsite DMR. A high degree of autonomy and accountability are fundamental expectations of this position. Reporting to the Operations Manager.Principle Responsibilities:Work with the sales team to design, provision, and operate various Operational Telecommunication Networks.Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver various Operational Telecommunication Networks on time, on budget, and with a high level of quality.Provide level 2 & level 3 support when analyzing and solving incidents raised by EMR’s clients.Act as the interface to 3rd line support from key partners.Investigate network performance issues to determine root cause, develop, and implement plans to address as needed.Perform equipment configuration and provide support to field deployment for new solutions and enhancements.Work within the NOC to monitor, react, and troubleshoot client network issues as they arise.Assess the risk of adds and changes with clients and plan cutovers.Carry out regular preventive maintenance inspections.Create and maintain required documentation including network architecture drawings.Troubleshoot network connectivity and access issues as they arise.Act as a technology champion in driving change, developing new service offerings, and finding innovative ways to use existing infrastructure.Carry out all work in line with health and safety regulations.Essential Experience - Technical SkillsMinimum of 5 years related experience with telecommunications networking within utility services.Proven ability/experience in the above responsibilities.Working familiarity with the operation and configuration of the following network equipment:Ethernet switches/routersFirewallsOver The Air (OTA) communication devicesDemonstrated ability to take a leadership role for setting standards and resolving technical issues.Experience developing standards, functional specifications, and test procedures and a working knowledge of applicable industry standards.Experience working with Incident and Change Management systems.Design experience in creating and maintaining resilient, high availability network services.Experience in Installation and Commissioning.Essential Experience - Interpersonal SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to establish and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, carriers, and outsourced Service Providers ensuring timely, effective, and efficient responses to customer requests and requirements.Exhibit diplomacy and high emotional intelligence in setting expectations and working with both internal and external customers.Exhibit behaviors conducive to a professional business environment.Strong time management skills and the ability to quickly assess a situation and re-prioritize are a must.Experience with designing and implementation of LAN and WAN.Proven experience with software that is related to telecommunications systems.Hands-on experience in PC operating systems and network handling.VPN configuration and firewall management.Collaborative, team-oriented approach with an open, candid communication style and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.Ability to motivate and influence others.Proven track record of excellent attendance and job performance.Strong team player, able to communicate and show leadership amongst teams of knowledgeable specialists and Engineers.Qualifications:Degree qualification in areas of telecoms, computer science, IT, electronics, or related disciplines.CompTIA/CCNA or equivalent.Full clean driving licence.Awareness of health and safety regulations for onsite visits.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: From €50,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:Yearly bonusBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany pensionEmployee assistance programEmployee discountOn-site parkingStore discountSchedule:Monday to FridayApplication question(s):Do you currently hold a full clean driving licence?Experience:Engineering: 5 years (preferred)Work authorisation:Ireland (preferred)Work Location: In personApplication deadline: 24/10/2024 #J-18808-Ljbffr
