About the Role The role of the Head of Event Delivery is to orchestrate the event management team and the event delivery operatives to deliver on Client requirements for events held in the multiple RDS venues. The Head of Event Delivery works to exacting standards ensuring an efficient and professional service to exceed Client expectations. The postholder has a strong commercial acumen, is focussed on cost management and understands the flexible approach this industry demands, both in decision making and in their approach to seeking solutions. Key Responsibilities Maintain oversight of all events taking place on the RDS Campus to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and services to fulfil our obligations Set, monitor and take responsibility for managing the departmental expenditure budget Act as Line manager for all members of the Event Operations team, to include Event Administration, Event Management and Event Delivery Operatives Establish performance expectations, monitor progress and provide supportive guidance to the Event Delivery Team Develop detailed project plans for both client and RDS events, to ensure implementation processes are managed in line with budgetary requirements Manage internal stakeholder relationships ensuring collaborative harmony between teams and a singular objective approach to cross functional decision making is observed Regularly liaise with external third party suppliers with a view to continuously improving service standards Prepare and communicate scheduled reports for Senior Management to highlight the status of all function deliverables Champion Health & Safety on the campus through the event delivery team and relationships with service providers Maintain strong relationships with clients, to include post-event follow up to gather feedback on how the RDS can continue to excel Encourage continuous innovation in your functional area, regularly updating structures, practices and policies to reflect this Take a leading Event controller role in large scale events such as the Dublin Horse Show and RDS concerts Person Specification Key Skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organisational, time management, and leadership skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritise projects and actions based on a demanding event schedule Personal Attributes Confident, credible and motivated person with the proven ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail Proven ability to complete tasks in a detail-orientated, methodical and organised manner to agreed procedures People orientated person, tactful and diplomatic enabling him/her to resolve difficult situations as they arise Experience Minimum 8 years experience in a senior events role, preferably within a venue Previous experience of managing a team of minimum 3 people (min. 3 years) Previous experience in Senior Operations/Event Management or similar position Experience and proficiency using databases, event and project management software Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) essential Experience and ability with CAD and other related event systems would be considered a bonus Salary 65 75k DOE Application Process and Closing Date If you are interested in applying for this position, please email your CV and Cover letter to with the subject line Head of Event Delivery, Maternity Cover Application.
