RSM Ireland are delighted to be working with King and Moffatt Building Services to recruit an experienced and commercial driven Head of Finance (CFO Designate) to join and lead its finance team. About King and Moffatt King and Moffatt are an award winning Mechanical and Electrical Contractor, company who have been in business for more than 45 years. They engage with both public and private sector clients to provide a wide range of services. The company is based in Carrick-on-Shannon with offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Netherlands. We are seeking a hard-working ambitious finance professional to join the Senior Leadership team to help drive and manage the company growth. The Role: The Head of Finance (CFO Designate) position will oversee the financial operations of the Group. This role is the most senior role within the Finance function, leading a team of 13 and is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team As part of this role, you will be required to manage day-to-day financial operations, as well as leading the Finance Team. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial control, including month end close, reporting of results, preparation of financial statement and internal process and controls. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will be required to work closely with the Board and Management team to drive the business tactics and strategy as well as formulating financial KPIS and regular and accurate financial reporting, management accounts, forecasts, and projections. Responsibilities Overall responsibility for accuracy and reliability of financial accounting numbers for the Group on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. Improve, format and structure management accounts and practices that capture the business strategy, relevant KPIS (financial and non-financial) and provide sufficient but succinct narrative to allow the organisation to make decisions effectively. Collaborate closely with the CEO to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth and maximise profitability. Ensure monthly management accounts are reported in accordance with business deadlines. Act as a trusted advisor to management teams, providing financial insights and guidance to optimise decision-making processes. Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and strategic plans effectively to shareholders and other key stakeholders. Oversee intercompany charges and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and take ownership of the General Ledger for the Group. Ensure information is submitted for Group Reporting in a timely manner to ensure consolidation deadlines are achieved. On-going liaison and interaction with other areas of the business. Liaise with external auditors. Own and nurture relationships with shareholders, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies to safeguard the integrity of financial reporting. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure adherence to best practices. Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, to support sustainable growth and profitability. Analyse financial data and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimisation. Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Drive a culture of transparency and integrity across the organisation, promoting ethical behaviour and sound financial practices. Experience and Qualification Requirements Qualified Chartered or Management Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). 5+ years of Senior Financial Management Experience. Substantial International and construction sector experience highly desirable. Be resilient and flexible, with the ability to cope with a change in a fast-paced environment.
