Head of Finance My client is a long established and innovative semi state company. They are currently recruiting a Head of Finance, ideally with construction or engineering experience, for one of their key business units Purpose of position: Responsible for all aspects of the finance function reporting, planning & analysis, innovation, opportunity and risk management, process improvements. Lead and direct the finance function. Strategic Planning Main responsibilities: Provide timely, accurate, relative financial reporting for the business unit Stakeholder relationship management Design and implement management controls Assist with SAP implementation Manage budgetary control, financial planning and financial forecast management. Develop, implement and ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures. Deliver the relevant financial action plans as required by Director of Business Unit Maintain cost controls through effective budget management and cost analysis reporting. Implement 5 year business plan Maintain audit standards and ensure implementation of finance related recommendations and improvements to processes and procedures Assist the business unit Director with financial reporting as required for the CEO and for the Board. Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Director of the business unit Develop a high caliber finance team to deliver reporting requirements and provide financial analysis for business management The Person: A professional accounting qualification, with at least ten to fifteen years post qualification experience. Director level experience in accountancy practice or Head of Finance in large diverse organisation with construction experience preferred. Demonstrable strong financial and business management skills including people management, commercial management, and financial control. Proven technical skills working within a similar sized organisation accounting (FRS102), reporting internally and externally, analytical, governance and regulatory compliance. Strategic decision maker to influence policy decisions at business and company executive levels. Demonstrate project and change management skills.
