Job Description

Lead the Electrical Engineering team and drive innovation in superconducting transmission systems, connecting renewable generation and enhancing grid interconnections in mature markets.

As the Head of Electrical Engineering, you will lead the Electrical Engineering team and ensure the company remains at the forefront of superconducting cable technology. You will be part of the Technology Leadership Team, responsible for high voltage equipment development, grid integration, electrical testing, and managing relationships with OEMs and academic institutes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Oversee superconducting cable research, design, and product development.
  • Direct power systems and cable integration research projects.
  • Develop and qualify electrical aspects of superconducting cable systems.
  • Manage supplier development and supply chain for electrical components.
  • Represent the company in discussions with DSOs and TSOs.
  • Set development priorities and foster strategic alignment across teams.
  • Manage forecasting and budgeting for the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Develop and sustain research relationships with academic and industry partners.
  • Act as an ambassador for superconducting technology at events and conferences.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in electrical system development and delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Team player with experience in internal and external relationship development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with DSO/TSO organizations.
  • Experience in HVDC systems development or delivery.
  • Experience in developing novel designs and systems.
